Letter To The Legal Services Board (LSB)
Recently the Legal Services Board (LSB) has announced that they are undertaking an independent review of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's (SRA) regulatory actions in the lead-up to the collapse of the SSB Group Limited.
The IAA has recently communicated with the LSB as part of their review, with a request to be interviewed and provide documentary evidence as part of this process. You can read a copy of our letter to the LSB here.
The IAA remains focused on ensuring that the review conducted by the LSB is thorough and recognises the continued failure of the SRA to carry out regulatory oversight on the cowboy claims companies that have blighted our industry.
The IAA has also recently proactively communicated and campaigned with Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, The Department of Energy Security and Net Zero to inform and provide qualitative and in-depth information on the cavity claims model, as the cavity claims backlash has re-emerged and gathered pace, as highlighted in Yorkshire and Lancashire when SSB Law went into administration.
We remain committed to campaigning and supporting our industry and our Members to demonstrate the quality and excellence that exists in our sector, ensure that documented evidence is provided to the LSB’s independent review and that an informed and balanced discussion and debate is held as this review and the wider situation progresses forward.
As an industry we are stronger if we stand together with one voice, challenge unacceptable practices such as the Cavity Claims Scandal and equally offer solutions to Governments which help deliver the overall fuel poverty and Net Zero objectives. You can do your bit by joining The IAAF as a Federation member and providing your valuable input into our work as an industry.
