Room In Roof
What is Room in Roof?
Room in Roof (RIR) is an ideal product if you have a loft living space which is not insulated, or you are looking to convert your loft into a room. Insulating boards are fitted in between the rafters, underneath the plasterboard. The insulated boards are made from either polystyrene or polyurethane.
The insulation process only takes a few days to install and the aims of RIR is to keep the room waterproof whilst preserving the heat within the room itself.
The benefits of RIR:
- Preserves heat within the room
- Prevents heat being lost, keeping your whole home warm
- Reduces energy bills
- Increases the value of your property
- Aesthetically pleasing
Is RIR cost effective?
This insulation can reduce your energy bills of up to £395 per year. With the recent launch of the Green Homes Grant, RIR is listed as a primary measure. If you are ‘able to pay’, this grant will cover you for two thirds of your home improvements costs, capped at £5,000. For more information, please visit consumer advice.
Can you receive RIR for free?
With the launch of the Green Homes Grant, if you live in England and are on income support you can apply for 100% of a grant, capped at £10,000. Look at our Installer List for more information.
